Lets face it, the biggest threat the modern world faces in these uncertain times is not terrorism or natural disasters.
Dear reader, it is the witch.
The fine folk in Romania have tried to fight the good fight and weed out the green-faced goblins for good, only to be stopped by the threat of – gasp! – a curse.
Senator Alin Popoviciu of Romania’s Democratic Liberal Party drafted legislation that would have forced the country’s thousands of witches and fortune tellers to produce receipts and would have held them responsible for wrong predictions.
Popoviciu has claimed that the reason why the Senate rejected the proposed law is because his colleagues caved because many of them feared being cursed.
That’s right, not because fortune tellers and witches make erratic sums of money, and receipts would be difficult to keep, but because they could curse those poor senators.
