At 39 years old (that’s 172 in human years) Lucy is the oldest cat known. Living in South Wales with her owner Bill Thomas, 63; she still has more years left in her.
Unless we’ve had our pets from the day they were born we don’t really know their age, only a rough guess. This tabby found out her age when her owner did some research into her past and found that she was born in 1972.
Bill stated that “She’s gone deaf but apart from that she’s in good shape…she still looks for mice every day.” Just your average cat then. She’s going to be famous as there isn’t an entry in the Guinness World Record book for eldest cat, until now.
Let’s hope that our Lucy still has many more years left in her.
