YOU can slog away for years to get that all-important university degree, put in the extra hours at work and go that extra mile to amass a fortune, yet none of it would increase your luck. However, if last week’s Tattslotto draw is anything to go by, being really stupid and forgetful does.

A Melbourne mother scooped more than $1.4 million after accidently buying two tickets for the same draw.

The unnamed woman took home two division-one prizes, each worth $742,311.37.

“I thought my ticket had expired so I bought another one and accidentally doubled up in the weekend’s draw,” she said.

“One thing’s for sure, the family will have a holiday.

“We haven’t had one in years and years.”
