Good luck cards. A special pen. Even a desk calendar. For actors, those mementos from a job are props to remind themselves of a special role they performed. As the countdown begins to the end of Game of Thrones, many actors will be grabbing what they can as they face their almost inevitable demise. With a teaser trailer revealing that the final season will begin on 14th April, many fans of the show are already wondering who will remain at the conclusion. Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, already knows his fate and even has his own effigy in his shed. Thankfully, that doesn’t look to be a spoiler as the prop has already appeared in the trailer.
The clip is only 105 seconds long but fans would have been chilled by the statue of his character, and the other two remaining members of the Stark family, in the crypts. Whether the trailer is foreshadowing of their deaths is up for debate yet Harington is still reeling from the finale. Said to be suffering ‘grief’, the statue will be a painful reminder whatever happens and wherever he plans to put it, even in the back garden. He told Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 Breakfast Show, “I kept that statue… the one in the crypt. They sent it to my house. I’ve got it in my shed. How sad is that? I was the only one who kept that statue, that’s how narcissistic I am. I’m going to turn it into a water feature.” Maybe he could add some dragons to the pond.
