You can get kicked out of pubs for a number of things but the weirdest is because of having bells on your shoes. A group of Morris Dancers were asked to leave for having bells on their footwear.
The group had only just finished performing in the city’s market place in Durham when they wanted a drink. Some managed to order pints with out any trouble. “Two female members came in with the bells on their shoes and a woman member of staff shouted, ‘no bells’ and that was it,” states Duggs Carre – one the dancers. “Once sat done they don’t make any noise,” he has a point there.
All this happened because the pub has a strict no music policy (all sounds a bit Footloose to us). Whatever will get banned next?
