We’d never expect violence at a Wales and England Euro 2012 qualifier game, but that’s exactly what occurred at Wembley this Tuesday when Welsh football fan Mikey Dye was attacked at the stadium at 7.20 just before the game.
44-year-old Mikey Dye was found with serious head injuries on a concourse area outside the turnstiles of the North London stadium at around 7.20pm – 20 minutes before kick-off – following reports of an assault. Six men have already been arrested in connection to the attack. Welsh footballer Joe Ledley, who played in his team’s 1-0 defeat, posted his sympathies on Twitter writing, ‘I can’t believe a Welsh fan has been murdered tonight shocking. ‘My thoughts go out to his family.’
