The-Q-Awards

Last night saw the 2010 annual Q awards at London’s Grosvenor Hotel. An iconic title, you would expect the cream of music royalty indulging in debauchery and rock’n’roll antics. But this year was a bit different. The winners list is not dissimilar to a NOW album tracklist I got one Christmas circa ’96; Suede and Madness joined Take That and Wings in receiving accolades. This meant that the majority of guests were all a bit grown up for all that nonsense. Good effort, we say. In fact, let’s hope that next years awards recognize the somewhat overlooked talents of other retro/vintage/outdated stars. 5ive for Best Live Act? Why not. Craig David for Q Idol? Babylon Zoo for Innovation In Sound? Bring it on.

Spotted…Everyone’s favourite dirty stop out Charlotte Church turning up to a radio interview today in last night’s award outfit.
