Paul Gascoigne, the 21st century’s answer to George Best, allegedly trashed his hotel room after a booze binge, and had apparently borrowed £20 from a taxi driver to buy more booze – since when would you lend Gazza a score? A hotel insider commented saying, “There was chicken curry smeared all over the TV and desk and up the walls. There was sick all over the floor and up the walls. There were cigarettes stubbed out on the sheets. There was a corner with ash everywhere. He couldn’t speak. He needs help.” Sounds like one expensive bill to pay.
