Job with plenty of exorcise
Fancy a job battling the forces of evil in all their demonic forms while saving the lives of the innocent?
Well the Vatican has the perfect job for you – and no it’s got nothing to do with hunting out kiddy fiddlers in the Catholic Church.
Apparently more and more demons and satanic minions are threatening the world but the pressure of banishing them back to the netherworld is so intense that there’s a lack of young priests willing to take up the job.
That’s according to 79-year-old Vatican exorcist Father Vincenzo Taraborelli who says he treats up to 30 people a day in his windowless room at the back of a church in Rome.
He says he cannot retire as he cannot find a replacement – which means if he ever does team up with a youthful maverick priest, he can play the Danny “I’m getting too old for this shit” Glover role in a Lethal Weapon meets the Exorcist-style buddy movie. “I told the bishop that I can’t find anyone willing to do this. Many of them are scared. Even priests can be scared. It’s a difficult life,” he waffled.
