Looks like it’s not just Australian people that invade the UK, we’ve now got Redback spiders in Britain.
The Redback spiders hailing from Australia have been found across Britain, and are said to be arriving in people’s luggage, and shipments from abroad. Redbacks are small and black with a red stripe on their back and can inflict a deadly bite, causing severe chest pain, nausea and fever and can even cause death.
Apparently Britain is also under siege from the German Cockroach and Pharaoh Ant from Africa. So make sure you think twice next time you sit down on a patch of grass for a picnic.
