It’s a live televised debate; you’re intending to run for the presidency – what’s the first thing you should know? Your policies? Well, Rick Perry didn’t think so!
The (former) Republican front-runner made an extraordinary gaffe live on air when he forgot one of the three key government agencies he would get rid of were he in charge.
Perry drew plenty of laughs from the crowd during the debate in Michigan as he stumbled through his list:
“It’s three agencies of government, when I get there, that are gone,” he said. “Commerce, education and the…and the…”
Perry tried to style it out, as we all do when we fall flat on our face, and attempted to change the subject. But the CNBC moderator brought him back to the point where Perry was forced to admit, “I can’t remember, oops.”
Perry has already embarked on an intense damage control strategy appearing on many US television stations stating that his ‘brain freeze’ shows that he is not ‘the slickest politician,’ which is obviously great because America needs ‘substance more than style.’
Meanwhile, as Perry tries to salvage his campaign, the rest of us are eagerly anticipating the soon to go viral Perry/Britney Spears remix. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about – I don’t need to say it.
