Our first comic book adaptation of the week, Kick-Ass lives up to its title.
Visually, the film follows the lead of Watchmen’s gritty comic book style, with enough reality to keep the film relatable – which makes for a great mix.
The script is also solid, drawing upon the source material with a wink to your usual cliches, even giving heart to a warped relationship between Hit-Girl and her father.
A coming-of-age, gangster, drama comedy rolled into one, Kick-Ass is as exciting as a film can possibly get.
