With the average Sydney house price exceeding the $89 million mark this month, it’s getting harder and harder for first-time buyers to get a foothold on the property market.
But an outside-the-box thinker in Virginia has come up with a canny solution for young couples looking for somewhere small and cosy for their first home and it will only cost you the price of a spade. Unfortunately, police weren’t quite so keen on Yosue Joel Rios’s innovative idea for a new home – a 15-foot deep cave he’d dug inside a local park.
Rios told police that he had dug it himself and covered the dirt he dispersed dirt around the park with leaves to hide it.
Officers found a pillow and other personal items inside the cave, where the two rooms were five feet, ten inches tall.
