The first step in creating the world’s first Robocop may have been taken with the news that a woman’s car called the police to dob her in for a hit and run.
The Florida felon, Cathy Bernstein, hit a truck and a van then tried to drive off before anyone caught her registration.
But her car’s emergency assistance feature automatically called 911, reporting the accident and location. At first she tried to bluff her way through the conversation with the operator. She said someone had simply pulled out in front of her as she was on her way home and did not know why her vehicle had called for help. She also said she hadn’t been drinking. No sir. No way.
“Your car wouldn’t call us if someone pulled out in front of you unless there had been an accident,”
the operator said to Ms Bernstein. Around that time, police were investigating a hit-and-run report, in which the alleged victim said she was hit from behind by a black vehicle and it didn’t take long for the cops to put two and two together. We bet David Hasselhoff never got this sort of shit off Kitt in Knight Rider.
