In a story that sounds suspiciously like the plot of a Scooby Doo episode, Mexican club Cruz Azul believe their stadium is cursed and have called for an unusual form of help to solve the problem. And no it’s not a talking dog, his hippy mate and their three weirdly dressed friends.
Fed up with a lack of trophies, fans called a witch in order to ‘clean’ the bad luck covering the stadium and end the ‘evil spell’. The witch, known as Zulema, visited the stadium, Estadio Azul, and used plants, holy water, black and white candles, a cow and a pig head to help cleanse the site. Either that or she was just having a barbecue.
“I was not paid for this, I only wanted to show that witchcraft exists,” said the oddball.
What’s the betting it’s just the stadium’s old groundskeeper who’s using an old monster costume to scare people away because he’s found a goldmine underneath the pitch? And he would’ve gotten away with it too if it wasn’t for that meddling witch.
