Cole Promises For 2010’s Fastest Selling Single
Cheryl Cole has become the year’s fastest selling non-charity single for the second year in the row. According to The Official Chart company the single sold a staggering 157,000 copies in it’s first week.
The track entitled ‘Promise This’ is taken from Cole’s second solo album ‘Messy Little Raindrops’ and was released to iTunes on following her controversial X-Factor performance with many fans complaining she mimed, where other people are suggesting the performance was pre-recorded an hour before airing.
The track upon release shot straight to number one, fighting of competition from Rihanna who bowed in at No.2 with Only Girl (In The World) which sold 126,000 copies in it’s first week, making the track the second fastest selling single of the year.
The other big-sellers of the year come from, the helping Helping Haiti charity single of ‘Everybody Hurts’, which racked up 400,000 first-week sales and fellow X-Factor judge Katy Perry, who’s comeback single ‘California Gurls’ notched up 125,000 copies in it’s first week.
