Pussy RiotThey might be called Pussy Riot, but at least they’re not pussies when it comes to speaking out about things.

Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot had to deal with pretty disastrous consequences when they chose to sing an anti-Putin song in a Moscow cathedral. Interesting choice of venue to say the least.

The three members of the alternative group (Maria Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Ekaterina Samusevichis) were stopped after less than a minute and have been held without bail by the authorities in Moscow since early March.

The band have had support from all over the world, including the likes of Madonna, who recently wore one of Pussy Riot’s trademark balaclavas at one of her gigs in Moscow. We all know how much she loves getting bodyparts out and this was no exception, as she stripped off her shirt to reveal the band’s name on her back. Put it away.

The future of the three women still seems uncertain. A final verdict is to be officially announced on August 17.
