POTENTIAL Kramers’ in Victoria have been dealt a blow after the state government resisted appeals for a national drink bottle recycling scheme.

In the Bottle Deposit episode of Seinfeld, Kramer and Newman discover a loophole which allows them to potentially make lots of money by raking in 10 cents for every bottle or can they collected. But the Victorian Government last week quashed calls to introduce a similar scheme throughout Australia, despite greenies backing the idea.

“A Victorian container deposit scheme would increase costs for families and potentially undermine our kerbside system,” said Victorian Environmental Minister Gavin Jennings, before booking a weekend jaunt on a Japanese whaling boat.
