Take That For Record Sales!
The newly reformed Take That, have bagged themselves the fastest-selling album of he century, after their newest album ‘Progress’ soared straight to the top spot with over 520,000 copies sold within it’s first week.
The group’s newest effort has been highly anticipated since the announcement of Robbie Williams returning earlier this year. The 10 song set was produced by music mastermind Stuart Price, who is famed for reviving Madonna’s career with her album ‘Confession on a Dance Floor’.
Martin Talbot from the Official Charts Company has stated: “Since their reunion as a four-piece four years ago, Take That have firmly established themselves as the UK’s favourite band. Following the return of Robbie Williams to their ranks, that record has been further cemented – and they are now well on course to rule Christmas 2010, just as they dominated Christmas 2006 and 2008.”
Last week saw Take That, JLS and Westlife all engaging in a battle of the boybands. Take That got themselves a big No.1, JLS got straight in the single chart with their Children In Need track ‘Love You More’, and well, Westlife limped in at No.10 with their comeback track ‘Safe’.
