THE world’s most famous hermaphrodite, Caster Semenya (left), is set to return to competitive action in Spain on 24 June.
Semenya hasn’t raced since she won 800m gold at the world championships in Berlin last August but, having undergone gender tests, believes she is now able to compete again.
In a statement, she said: “Together with my coach and agent, I have therefore decided that I will return to competitive athletics at the EAA meeting to be held on 24 June in Zaragoza, Spain.
“I reiterate that, based on medical and legal advice, I am firmly of the view there are no impediments to me racing in female athletics competitions.”
Whatever her sex, it’ll take balls to face the crowds again.
