We’ve all been tempted to fly on EasyJet at some time or another, lured in by their promise of 50p flights to an airport that’s actually 80 miles away from the city you’re supposedly travelling to.
Of course, you always get screwed in the end. It’s a lesson that James McElvar, a singer with shit Scottish boyband Rewind, found out the hard way.
After being told he’d have to pay excess fees for his luggage on a trip from London to Glasgow, the typically tight Scotsman came up with a cunning plan to save some money – wear all his clothes at once.
However, the plan backfired somewhat when James threw up and passed out from heat exhaustion mid-flight after donning 12 layers of clothing. Nice.
‘I felt it was my only option to put on everything,’ James said. ‘It was impossible to walk, I could barely get on the plane. I wanted to take them all off as soon as I got to my seat – beside which was a spare seat that I could have sat one of my bags on – but was told I had to wait until we were up in the air.’
He started undressing as the plane was taking off, but for once it wasn’t to excite hormone-riddled teenagers. Alas, his body temperature had already soared. He then complained to the group’s manager that he was incredibly warm, sweating profusely, light headed and feeling sick.
Cabin crew were notified, and he was offered an empty row at the rear of the plane. Without any sick bags on board, he was given a transparent bin bag in case he vomited. He was then violently sick, somehow missing the plastic bag. Funnily enough, BBM had the same reaction just from listening to one of his songs.
