Not Such A French Fancy
Comedian Dawn French launched her debut novel ‘A Tiny Bit Marvellous’ at the Watford branch of Asda this week.
The Vicar of Dibley star arrived at the branch to sign copies of her latest book, yet the crowds were far from marvellous and put Asda bosses into a state of panic.
However fast thinking from the team meant that the queues were boisterous and full of life by the time French turned up…by making workers in the store queue up to get copy of the books signed.
One worker during the day said “I was told to join the queue and was given a copy of the book. Dawn signed it and I then handed the book back to my bosses”
Asda confirmed that the day did indeed get off to a slow start and stated that over 150 people met the star and got their copy of the novel sold. The supermarket is yet to reveal how many that figure were staff members.
