It would seem that SMS (also known as small man syndrome) also occurs in the insect world. Scientists recently discovered that the common water boatman which measures at just 2mm is capable of making a noise of 99.2 decibels – about the same amount of noise as a full orchestra playing – by rubbing their penis’ on their abdomen in order to attract a mate.
