A cash machine in East London has started to have the instructions on screen written in old Cockney rhyming slang.
The machine was placed in Leytonstone, with users being offered to withdraw ‘sausage and mash’ otherwise known as cash from the machine. Other slang terms used are ‘Charlie Sheen’ for screen and ‘Huckleberry Finn’ for PIN.
This novel approach to withdrawing cash has proved popular already with punters, with one user stating “I think it’s great to have a bit of lighthearted fun during his current financial climate. It’s tough enough withdrawing cash when you’ve not got much, but if you can do it with a giggle it makes all the difference.”
Options for money withdrawals include Lady Godiva (£5), horny of plenty (£20) and a pony (£25).
