poland-vs-englandEngland face Poland in the crucial clash to determine whether they will automatically qualify for the World Cup 2014. England will be confident after their 4-1 victory over Montenegro but face a different test against this Poland side. Anything but a win is likely to see them go into the play-offs as Ukraine face San Marino who have not even registered a point in qualifying.

Logically should be looking to keep a winning formula and send out the same side except for one change due to Kyle Walker’s suspension. Andros Townsend if fit should be the key man again as he is one of the few players that provides direct running at the opposition. Although it wasn’t a spectacular performance against Montenegro, England should be afforded more space against Poland and that equates to more chances.

Poland boast the much coveted striker Robert Lewandowski but their key man is their workhorse right winger Jakub Blaszczykowski. Both players ply their trade at Borussia Dortmund who were the darlings of Europe last season and a hipster’s dream. Though Poland have nothing to play for, no footballer likes to lose, especially top players as them. England will do well to keep them shackled.

The key to this game may be an early goal from England as 18,000 Polish fans will be packed into Wembley and will be revelling in the occasion all evening long whilst the England fans could be tense throughout. The goal would loosen up the fans and their support will boost the players.
