In wrestling, it’s quite common for a good guy (or ‘face’ as they’re known in the biz), to suddenly become a traitorous baddie (or ‘heel’).
It’s not quite so common in the world of parent-friendly folk music, however, as Mumford and Sons discovered when they were booed by their own fans in South Africa for shouting “This one’s for the England cricket team” before bursting into song.
Marcus Mumford had hoped the dedication would be well received by the England cricketers in the crowd, and fast bowler Stuart Broad uploaded a video of the incident.
All it was lacking was for a fan to smash Marcus Mumford round the back of the head with a steel chair while the referee was distracted.
