JIMMY ‘no knees’ Bullard appears to have fallen foul of Celtic’s ‘pensioners only’ transfer policy after his season-long loan move fell through.
Celtic, who signed midfielder Joe Ledley on Monday after he left Cardiff City, had only been willing to pay a proportion of the Englishman’s present salary at Hull. With Ledley’s signing in danger of bringing the average age of this season’s transfer targets under 40, Celtic will now presmably turn their attentions to Sir Bobby Charlton and Dennis Law.
“We have just got to get on with it,” said Hull chairman Adam Pearson, speaking as he announced that Hull had agreed deals to sign midfielders James Harper, released by Sheffield United, and Nolberto Solano, who was previously with Leicester City. Just watch that money flowing down the gutter Adam.
