hottubIt was a loss of an unbeaten record, as well as a game of penalties for the British and Irish Lions as they were subjected to a 14-12 defeat to Brumbies (yes, that’s their real name) to end their unbeaten record in the series of friendlies just before their first test against Australia on Saturday.

The Brumbies to be fair are regarded as one of the best rugby teams in the southern hemisphere, and those lions couldn’t raise any voices against them, as they went 5-0 down thanks to a try from Tevita Kuridrani within 5 minutes. After then, the non related players on either team Jesse Mogg and Stuart Hogg had a penalty shootout of some sorts, as both players, the former for Brumbies the latter for Lions, scored and missed a succession of penalties as the score went to 14-6. But it was Owen Farrell, Englands new golden boy who will be advertising Walkers soon (coming for you Lineker!) that scored the final two penalties to give the Lions some hope, but it wasn’t to be as they ended their unbeaten record.

With Australia’s test on Saturday, the locals will be happily going to the betting shops now after that performance by the Lions. But as always, well done you aptly named Brumbies!
