11-Year-Old Rioter Steals a Bin
An 11-year-old boy from Romford, Essex has been put in a youth rehabilitation scheme after he stole a bin during the London riots.
It turns out the boy had been sentenced for arson and criminal damage just five days before he took part in the looting, according to Havering magistrates court.
The numpty, who cannot be named for legal reasons, grabbed the £50 waste bin after a gang of men smashed windows and caused £6,000 of damage to the Debenhams store in Romford on August 8. Sentencing him, district judge John Woollard said: “You seem to think nobody can stop the way you behave.” The boy, who admitted a charge of burglary, was placed under an 18-month youth rehabilitation order and told his local authority will dictate where he lives for the next six months.
His parent are said to be deeply ashamed that their son was too stupid to steal something useful like a plasma screen.
