A new study has found that thanks to the wonder of the internet, more and more people are telling their neighbours to piss off.
Apparently broadband owners are giving their Wi-Fi network names that anonymously tell their neighbours the way they truly feel. So titles like ‘Shut The Barking Dog Up No 7’, ‘Stop Slamming The Door!!!’ and ‘Stop Shouting!’ are becoming more and more common place. And BBM’s personal favourite? ‘Stop Screaming During Sex!’
James Robinson of OpenSignalMaps said the anonymous system is popular with people/cowards who want to avoid a face-to-face confrontation. “My neighbours would have to do something really bad to go over and knock on their door,” he said. “It’s targeted at the person to prick their conscience.”
More imaginative names such as ‘Drop it like it’s hotspot’, ‘Pretty fly for a Wi-Fi’ and ‘Wi Believe I Can Fi’ are also common. Which, of course, means they’re not really that imaginative.
