Of course, within everything to do with dieting, there is a catch. It turns out that only watching a broken TV screen, one that flickers and needs tuning, can make you forget about food. Flinders University in Adelaide found that flickering images subsided hunger pangs in volunteers by blocking images of food from forming in the brain. So if you want to stop feeling peckish while watching TV, you’re going to have to suffer with annoying black and white dots on the screen. We’d rather just be like the cat.
