THERE seems to be some confusion over England’s Euro 2012 Qualifying Group.
After being drawn with Wales, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Montenegro, Fabio Capello thinks it’s one of the two toughest groups, The Sun thinks it’s a piece of piss and the BBC think it’s somewhere in between.
But, the truth is, the fact that it could have been an easier draw shouldn’t matter because we should still batter the lot of them. Even the ‘derby-game’ effect of playing Wales is negated by the fact that they’ve got John ‘absolute dogshit’ Toshack in charge.
“I think the worst groups were Group A and Group G – and we are in Group G!” said Capello, who probably knows a little bit more about football than Steven Howard of The Sun.
“It is tough, because every game will be a strong game. They are really good teams. The Wales game is derby-like for a national team – it will be interesting. I prefer a smaller group, less games. But it’s tough.”
Elsewhere, Scotland are fucked. They got Spain, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Liechtenstein – and you just know that even if they outplay the Czechs over two games, they’ll still drop points against the other shit teams and finish third. Mind you, the Czechs are pretty shit these days so you never know… although so were Norway.
It’s a tough one for Northern Ireland as well with Italy, Serbia, Slovenia, Estonia and Faroe Islands joinging them in Group C.
Ireland, however, have a very winnable group containing Russia, Slovakia, FYR Macedonia, Armenia and Andorra.
