GREAME Souness. Rafa Benitez. Gerard Houllier. Now Liverpool look set to break a tradition that’s lasted nearly 20 years by appointing a manager who’s actually half decent.
Roy ‘the boy’ Hodgson is widely expected to take over the Anfield hotseat some time in the near future although, annoyingly, he’s not in any rush which means we can’t say it’s a definite because it might go tits up before our print deadline. Bah.
Hodgson has remained tight-lipped over rumours linking him with the vacant Liverpool job.
“I’m Fulham manager. I’m perfectly happy at Fulham,” the BBC World Cup pundit told presenter Gary Lineker in Cape Town recently. “There’s a lot of speculation but I can’t enlighten you.”
Sounds like someone’s unhappy at Fulham to us.
