Stevie’s a quit tease
IT’S been a busy week for Steeeevie Gerrard - and for once we’re not talking about the scandalicious internet rumours.
First the big old diddums came out and said he thought about quitting international football following the World Cup shambles.
Then he pretty much saved Fabio Capello’s neck by firing in two goals in four minutes to turnaround a 1-0 defecit against Hungary into a 2-1 victory.
“It was a fantastic feeling to get those two goals and also to come away with a win,” said the Scouse star. “This was a difficult game to play in as a player and it was made even more difficult when we went a goal down. After a disappointing World Cup it was all about winning.”
Unfortunately, Gerrard ruined an otherwise good week by claiming that Joe Cole is better than Lionel Messi.
“Messi can do some amazing things, but anything he can do Joe can do as well, if not better,” the Liverpool captain told Match of the Day magazine.
OK Liverpool fans, we know he’s a legend to you lot, but you’d better pray to God he never becomes your manager.
