Hats off to Sporting Lisbon striker Teofilo Gutierrez who’s come up with a fun new use for those vanishing sprays that referees use to ruin players’ boots.
After scoring Sporting Lisbon’s third goal in a 3-1 Champions League win over Besiktas last month, the cheeky finisher pilfered the spray from the official and tried to incorporate it into his celebration.
Ten out of ten for originality, but the execution wasn’t quite as lethal as his finishing – as he just left a big puddle of white stuff on the ground (which, coincidentally, is BBM’s calling card whenever we break into Katy Perry’s house). The good-natured ref seemed to see the funny side though, having a little chuckle to himself as he booked Gutierrez.
