Lucasfilm has thankfully announced it will not digitally recreate Carrie Fisher’s Star Wars character Princess Leia in Episode IX (sorry, we have to refer to them using Roman numerals for some obscure reason).
She was expected to appear in the film but as the whole world knows, the universe lost a princess at the end of last year when Fisher died aged 60.
We at BBM are pleased to hear this. Not that Fisher died, give us some credit, but we’re pleased that her role as Leia won’t be ‘cartoonised’ as that would have been a tragedy. The franchise has suffered enough with Jar Jar fuckin’ Binks and the CGI nonsense of the prequels.
