premiership predictionAlthough due to a slight technical issue our predictions did not make it to masses for last weekend’s fixtures let us assure you they were all 100% on the money. Here are the predictions for this Saturday’s games – plus the obligatory “biggest game of the season so far” this time in the form of Man Utd V Arsenal.

Aston Villa V Cardiff City

The Bluebirds (who inexplicably now play in red shirts) came out on top last weekend against their fierce welsh rivals Swansea and will go into this game with confidence high. Both teams have struggled to find the net so far this season with nine goals a piece from 10 games. Villa themselves are on a run of four Premier league games without a goal and will be hoping to turn around their frankly dismal home form.

PREDICTION: 1-0

Chelsea V West Brom

Jose Mourinho was bang on the money when he called his Chelsea side’s defeat against Newcastle last weekend “a really bad performance” but after a comfortable mid week win in the Champions league I expect things to be rosy in the Stamford Bridge garden once more. West Brom will be hard to break down and with young starlet Berahino up top they will be hoping to keep the game tight. It is worth noting that Berahino (scorer of 2 PL goals this season) is on £800 a week at the minute, that is just the £199,200 less that Torres (scorer of 1 PL goal this season) picks up every week at Chelsea.

PREDICTION: 2-0

Crystal Palace V Everton

Every week I think is this the week Palace finally show their Premier league pedigree and every week I realise…absolutely not. They are simply a certainty for relegation and seven defeats on the bounce could become eight in a tough game against the Toffees. Everton held out Spurs last weekend and much will depend on whether Lukaku has recovered in time to play following his knocking out of Hugo Lloris in that game. Even without him I can only see one result here.

PREDICTION: 1-2

Liverpool V Fulham

Liverpool lost out in the big game against Arsenal last time out but remain in third place in the table. Anfield is fast regaining its status as “a fortress” as any ground with a half decent record has to be called and with visitors Fulham in freefall another home win looks on the cards. The fact Fulham have had tough games against Southampton and Man Utd and now Liverpool might be a blessing in disguise for Martin Jol as had defeats come against lesser sides he might have been out of a job by now .

PREDICTION: 3-1

Southampton V Hull City

It is the fashionable versus the uncool at St Marys this weekend; the sharp suit against the socks and sandals if you will. Southampton are a team in vogue at the minute. Pochatino manager of the month, three players in the England squad and unbeaten in sever premier league games. But to be fair to Hull they have been plodding along quite nicely this season and find themselves in 10th position. Hull do not score many and the Saints don’t concede (unless it is from 90 yard punts from opposition goalkeepers).

PREDICTION: 1-0

Norwich V West Ham

We have to admit not even the BBM oracle predicted Norwich’s 7-0 defeat against Man City last weekend and with boss Chris Houghton under increasing (and unfair) pressure he will want to stop the rot with this home game. West Ham manager, and used car salesman, Sam Allardyce has already called this game “a six pointer” and while he is a little premature with that one both teams will be desperate for a win. Which usually means it ends as a draw and nobody is happy.

PREDICTION: 2-2

***GAME OF THE WEEKEND***

Man Utd V Arsenal

Pizzagate, Van Persie snatching, Viera vs Keane and title challenges, this game has had it all over recent years and this game is shaping up to be another classic. Arsenal sit 5 points clear at the top while Moyes’ men are beginning to find some form of their own. With no Fergie in the Old Trafford dug out, Monsieur Wenger might be left waiting for the post match red wine but he will feel his side can show their title credentials in this one. But with Rooney and ex-gunner Van Persie up top for United the home side will be confident of putting on their own show of strength.

PREDICTION: 1-2
