The Queen’s personal fighting force of corgis took on Princess Beatrice’s Norfolk terriers in a bloody battle. 11 year old Max of the terriers was almost a casualty.
The incident took place mid August (2012) when the ‘dog-boy’ was tasked to walk the Queens six corgis and the Princesses three terriers around the grounds of Balmoral Castle. What with there being a new unfamiliar crowd, the dogs got over excited and ended up brawling. Max took the worst of it, almost losing an ear and having to be rushed to a vet for treatment.
Max has been a treasured companion to the Princess (24) who received him as a gift when she was 13. This isn’t the first time he has been in trouble though. In December 2008, he disappeared from the family home in Windsor Great Park. The Queen, the Duchess of York and Princess Eugenie formed a search party led by themselves to track him down but were unsuccessful until three weeks later when he was found quite worse for wear.
