We’ve all experienced hilarious mix-ups from time to time. Whether it’s accidentally brushing your teeth with pile ointment instead of toothpaste, or slipping up your girlfriend’s wrong hole, the anecdotes are endless.
But while several of BBM’s girlfriends may disagree, one man has come up with the most painful mix-up so far after his phone rang while he had a hot iron in his hand. Half an hour later, he was in hospital being treated for serious burns to the face and ear.
“Women are always going on about multi-tasking, so I set up the iron, opened a beer and put the boxing on the telly,” said Tomasz Paczkowski, 32, from Elbag, Poland. “It started out well, but then I got so involved in the boxing that I wasn’t really thinking about what I was doing. So when the phone rang I picked up the iron by mistake and pressed it to my ear.”
While most newspapers saw the lighter side of the story, the Daily Mail used it as another example of Poles coming to England to take our classic slapstick comedy routines.
