Another explosive weekend of twists in the Premier League this weekend. With Arsenal, Liverpool and Swansea gaining big results over the last few days. Robin Van Persie (sorry, Arsenal) were up against Newcastle in a Champions League stand-off on Monday Night Football, as Arsenal wrote themselves in the record books after coming from behind yet again 4 games in a row to beat the Toon 2-1.
Liverpool ruined David Moyes’ celebrations of his 10th year in charge as the merseryside derby ended with a 3-0 win for the Reds; with Shhtevie Gerrard getting a hat-trick. Also a massive win for newly promoted Swansea as they beat ex-league leaders and still moneybags Manchester City 1-0, with City not happy their bribes didn’t work this time!
But their rivals United took advantage and now sit at the top as they beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at Old Trafford. To round up this exciting weekend of football, Blackburn beat fellow Relegationers Wolves 2-0 at Wolves, Chelsea winning 1-0 against Stoke and Tottenham dropped points at Everton. And with Arsenal closing in on Tottenhams backs, they will truly be putting their backs up against the wall until May!
