This frog is unlike any other, you could say that it is indeed the Wolverine of the biological world. The hairy frog has extendable claws which can only be reared when the bones in the frog’s toe pads are broken – ouch.
Scientists say that the frog uses this instant weapon as a defence mechanism. The hairs on its back are thought to be skin and arteries used to suck in more air (almost like a power-up). Sadly this superhero frog is eaten in its native home of Cameroon, but hunters have to use spikes and spears to avoid a bloody war. Yikes!
