Euro 2012: Cristiano RonaldoWell Cristiano, we know you love your hairstyles but your pants are pretty shocking as well. It’s his own fault after his selfishness caused Portugal to lose out to Spain on penalties, as the reigning champions took a step closer to picking up three major trophies in a row. The game finished 0-0 after a 90 minute game dominated by loose uncharacteristic passing from Spain, and Portugal missed many clear chances to take the lead.

Into extra time, Spain gained their rhythm back and two world class saves from goalkeeper Rui Patricio kept Portugal at bay with a more intense half hour in extra time. Eventually on penalties both teams missed their first kicks before centre back Bruno Alves stuttered and was brought back from his penalty, and he then missed his kick after. Cesc Fabregas scored his kick to send Spain through to the final, but it was the question of why Ronaldo, Portugal’s star man and captain, did not take a single penalty? Only the team can answer that, but for now no more devilish hairstyles as Euro 2012!
