THE impromptu Scottish civil war which erupted at Celtic Park last week has led to government intervention. Rangers had three players sent off, coaches Ally McCoist and Neil Lennon disappeared in a cartoon-fog of flying feet and fists and 34 fans were arrested in the aftermath of Celtic’s 1-0 win over the Gers. Alex Salmond, the Scottish minister for knee-jerk reactions, announced that a summit involving both clubs, the Scottish Government and the police will be held next week to discuss Old Firm matches.
