The Conservative Party have revealed plans to fit repeating criminals with GPS tags.
Keen to demonstrate their tough policies on crime, the Conservative Party announced how previous offenders will be able to be located at any time. This will aid the police in solving crimes and allow them to find criminals when they want to bring them in for questioning. As the location of previous offenders will be easily accessible to the police they will be able to rule them out of, or implicate them in certain incidents.
However, this crack-down on crime has come under criticism as many believe it will put more pressure on the prison service due to an increase in short jail sentences. It has also been described as a brash decision to cover up hesitance and indecisiveness regarding law and order over the past two years.
The main question is whether or not this is a breach of human rights as privacy will be completely non-existent. So basically if you were thinking about thieving sushi from Marks and Sparks or taking yet another pint glass home from the local pub think again. Big Brother is watching you.
