John TerryAs predicted, John Terry and handshake refusals are now becoming a regular occurrence in a weekend overshadowed by the ‘will he, won’t he’ nonsense at Loftus Road. Elsewhere, Arsenal looked like a team possessed, Paul Scholes rolled back the years and Man City still cannot win at Stoke.
Yes, Chelsea dropped their first points of the season in a feisty 0-0 draw with QPR, after Anton Ferdinand had refused to shake Terry’s hand before kick-off, but the game lacked the spark needed and a draw was a fair result.

Over at Arsenal, the Gunners smashed Southampton 6-1 in a game full of the flowing football we are usually accustomed to seeing from them. Podolski scored a brilliant free kick and Gervinho bagged a brace and could have had more. Early days, but whispers of a title challenge are beginning to surface.

Old Trafford saw Paul Scholes produce a master class in his 700th game with a goal and man of the match performance in the 4-0 win over Wigan.

And Champions Man City drew 1-1 away to Stoke for the fifth time running, with Peter Crouch scoring a comical goal with his hand.

In other games, Fulham’s great home form continued in a 3-0 win over West Brom, Luis Suarez scored a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Sunderland, and Norwich and West Ham played out a bore 0-0.

On Sunday, Jermain Defoe was superb as the lone striker as Spurs registered their first win of the season with a 3-1 at Reading, and on Monday, Everton and Newcastle played out a great 2-2 draw, with Demba Ba scored twice for the Toon after coming on at half time.
