Comedians standing up against politicians is always a novelty, but Mr Al Murray is going one step further, for the one and only Pub Landlord has decided to stand against UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, in the general election in South Thanet, Kent.
To stand against the controversial party, Murray has formed his own party, Free United Kingdom Party – or FUKP. In an obvious attempt to ridicule UKIP, the logo for the party is an upside-down pound sign. He’s also revealed a 13-point action plan including “The pound will be revalued at one pound 10p, so it will now be worth 10p more” and “Law and Order. Unemployment causes crime: I propose to lock up the unemployed.”
A plan that he is calling “common sense”, Murray explained his reason for running in the election, saying “It seems to me that the UK is ready for a bloke waving a pint around, offering common sense solutions.” Basically saying a big FU(KP) to Farage and the United Kingdom Independence Party.
If you didn’t love this man already, you bloody will now.
