Great news from Denmark, where the good people of Aesir have designed a new mobile phone for those with spare cash and appropriate inclination; the AE+Y is fashioned from 18-carat gold, has no apps, only basic functions, and will set you back around €42000 (just over £36000GBP/55700AUD).
Aesir aren’t trying to seize the zeitgeist here, which is perhaps just as well with that price tag, but are trumpeting the AE+Y’s durability and craftsmanship as bait. What happens with this is yet to be seen, but the AE+Y is certainly being marketed to the right people.
So, if Aesir want to test the AE+Y and future bling-things, maybe they can send some in our direction for scientific purposes. We can measure how they react to being accidentally dropped in beer, for example, or when thrown about during an argument. If the latter, a word of warning – never catch something your other half throws at you. You’re only fanning the flames…
