Football is littered with tales of players taking revenge on their rivals on the pitch.
Roy Keane famously ended Alfe Inge-Haaland’s career with a deliberate horror challenge back in 2001 while walking headline Joey Barton tried to headbutt/stomp on/throttle the entire squad of former club Manchester City a couple of years ago.
But it turns out Arsenal legend turned shit media pundit Ian Wright scored the most vindictive form of on-field justice during his playing days – by splitting the penis of Liverpool stalwart Steven McMahon with a lunging tackle. Talk about hitting the post – yeesh.
In his new autobiography, Wright revealed the tackle-on-tackle crunch was sparked by a confrontation at an England camp a few years earlier, when McMahon had “bullied” him.
Wright said he visited McMahon as he was getting treatment after the game and said sorry – but admitted the apology was insincere.
“I didn’t do it on purpose — there are other ways of getting your own back — but I won’t pretend I wasn’t glad it happened,” he smirked.
Wright claims years later McMahon told him every time he got aroused his penis would start hurting and he would think of the Arsenal man. So not only did the tackle wreck his penis, it also turned him gay. Weird.
