Saturday 7th February will see two of the most highly anticipated fixtures take place in the Premier League and you can expect tackles flying and some heated competition. It’s ‘Derby Day’!

Spurs vs Gunners 12:30pm Kick Off

At 12:30pm we see the early kick off at White Heart Lane as the North London derby brings Arsenal to the home of their bitter rivals Tottenham Hot Spurs. A defining fixture for both teams who are separated by only two points and a win would see Spurs leap frog the Gunners  but an away win will take Arsene Wenger and his team five points clear from their rivals on derby day. This fixture played last year saw Tomas Rosicky scoring a second minute goal that secured the points for Arsenal in a game ending 1-0 that ended a unacceptable away record at The Lane for them.
It won’t be a walk in the park as Tottenham prepare for the game with an impressive 20 goals since the start of the year in all competitions and a six game unbeaten run at home. We expect a more testing fixture for Arsenal who last weekend enjoyed an easy win against the hopeless Aston Villa, taking three points and netting five times without reply.
The major threat from Spurs will be their home grown star Harry Kane, who has become a revelation at the club and he has taken on the goal scoring responsibility with ease. Will the Arsenal defence be able to cope with his current hot form?

Everton vs Liverpool 5:30pm Kick Off

Heading north, the Merseyside derby will be extra special when the teams line up against each other as Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard will be playing his last derby. It will be an emotional affair as the Liverpool captain announced that he wouldn’t be renewing his contract with his boyhood club and signed to join MLS giants, LA Galaxy. Another exciting announcement from the Reds is that star striker Daniel Sturridge is to make his first start since August after returning from his lengthy injury which has seen him make two substitute appearances since his return to action.

Everton enter the game after a long overdue win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and Martinez will hope that that 1-0 victory will kick start their second half of the season. In recent weeks Martinez had admitted that the Toffees are in a relegation battle, which they didn’t imagine to be in after a promising start to his time at Goodison Park.
Some exciting news for the Blues fans, Everton could be giving their newest signing Aaron Lennon his debut after his January loan transfer from Tottenham. His injection of pace and fresh legs could be just the perfect remedy to bring Everton up the Premier League table.
