The average sports fan knows only two things about Lewis Hamilton. The first is that he earns a lot of money by driving round and round in circles really fast. The other is that he’s diddling that lass from the Pussycat Dolls. Well, as part of BBM’s endless quest to both entertain and enlighten our millions of mildly autistic readers, we bring you a third Lewis Hamilton fact: he was born and raised in Stevenage – a place so dull that BBM doesn’t even know where it is.
In fact, the best we can do, after deciding to ask around BBM Towers instead of using Google, is that apparently it’s: “Some shithole down London way”.
And according to Hamilton, we’re at least half right.
“I come from a not-great place in Stevenage and lived on a couch in my dad’s apartment,” Hamilton mumbled while motor-boating Nicole Shitsinger’s breasts.
“And Nico [Rosberg] grew up in Monaco with jets and hotels and boats and all these kinds of things – so the hunger is different.”
Apparently this baffling refusal to accept Stevenage as the Monaco of the UK did not go down well with the local residents.
“I can’t see how he can say such things about the place where he grew up,” councillor Phillip Bibby swooned. “He needs to remember his roots. His comments are unfair.”
Sharon Taylor – Stevenage Borough Council’s leader – said: “Of course we are very proud of Lewis – he’s an incredible example of what people from Stevenage can do. But it would be a lot better if he could speak up for the place he comes from. We would love to talk to him about promoting the town.”
